What are some other names you think I might like based on my style?
Alden is pronounced ALL-den.
1) Dean – I absolutely love this name. It’s familiar yet underused, which is my favorite type of name. The majority of the boy names I like are simple yet masculine without needing to scream it, and I think Dean fits the bill perfectly.
2) Donovan – I like this name, but only as a full name. I loathe the nicknames Donnie or Don, and realistically, they will be used by someone even if you choose not to use them yourself.
3) Cadel – I’m not a fan of this one. I’m not familiar with it, but judging from the pronunciation, I just don’t like it. It reminds me of a girl name I love, Adele, so it doesn’t strike me as very masculine. Plus, it sort of reminds me of the trendy C/K craze going on now (Carter, Carson, Cameron, Camden, Caleb, etc.).
4) Nathaniel – A great, classic name. I adore the name Nate.
5) Harrison – While I’m not a fan of the surname craze, I can’t help but like this name. And of course, the nickname Harry.
6) Reid – I used to really like this name, but now I’m pretty neutral on it. I think it would make a cool middle name, but doesn’t really give me much of anything to warrant it being a first name.
7) Theodore – My cousin’s name is Theodore! We call him Theo, which I love. It’s a great, underused classic.
Alden – It’s okay, but considering how popular Aiden is right now, I fear it would get confused very easily. They sound and look so similar, people will be making the mistake often.
9) Addison – I’m not a fan of unisex names, and I know that people argue the “son” names are blatantly masculine, but I can’t help but only picture a female now since they’re the only ones I’ve ever known with this name. Therefore, I hate this name on a boy because I personally don’t want my son sharing a name with a girl. Maybe that’s old-fashioned of me, but you have to consider the teasing… sure, there are unisex names out there that are fine to use for both because they’re less popular, but Addison is in the top 10 for GIRL names now.
10) Martin – It by no means “wows” me, but it’s not bad.
